Later, Katalin moved to the United States and raised her three children in the Chicago area. She has integrated her devotion to working with children with her interest in artistic expressions (painting and writing fiction) and with spiritual growth. Katalin has practiced yoga and meditation for over 15 years.
Katalin has been in private practice for over 20 years. In addition to working with individual families, she has run Story-Drama and Yoga classes, and facilitated "Jump Start" playgroups for young children. Katalin also taught preschool at the University of Chicago Lab Schools for several years.
First, Katalin opened Family Support Source, a parenting consultation service, in Hyde Park. |
Then, moving to the North Side with her husband, Katalin decided to extend her services and give a new name to her organization. House of Kids and Teens, a wellness center for the mind, offers self-help programs to children. Katalin has created her own Five-Session and Three-Session Self-Discovery Programs for Children and Teens. She recently launched her unique yoga and meditation classes, the Bring your Child to Meditate!, and the Meditation for Tweens and Teens. Katalin also offers consultations for parents, teachers, and other professionals.
Katalin has published many articles about child development and proactive parenting in the Family Magazine, in Budapest. Her book, My Maternity Leave in America, written in Hungarian, talks about her experience as a mother and as a professional woman living in the United States.
